    Program Details: Get to What Matters: Tools to Transform Your Conversations in the Workplace and Beyond

    Clear, constructive communication is an essential skill for any business professional, yet only 2% of working adults have had formal training to enhance this ability. Recent research indicates that besides improving business outcomes, listening to our clients and colleagues is an effective one-on-one stress reducer— a wellness intervention in itself.  This workshop will explore and reinforce tools that promote meaningful conversation, effective listening and posing transformative questions.

    This intensive will address the following learning objectives:

    1. Identify at least four essential elements in effective listening.
    2. Learn and apply the “Rule of Three”, exploring how new layers of discovery appear in subsequent answers.
    3. Explore questions that lead a person’s brain toward a specific type of answer.

    Participants will:

    1. Differentiate between the concepts of ROI and VOI
    2. Identify outcomes associated with a wellness value proposition beyond health care cost containment
    3. Identify 6 areas of evidence-based best practices measured on the HERO Scorecard
    Presenter / Trainer Details:

    For over 30 years, Dr. Wendy Lynch has been making the connection between human and business performance. A consultant to numerous Fortune 100 companies, her career includes faculty at the UC Health Sciences Center, VP of Strategic Development at HCMS, Principal at Mercer HR and Board of Directors for two publicly-traded firms. Now Dr. Lynch runs her own consulting firm conducting Big Data analytic projects in Human Capital Management.

    As a research scientist working in the business world, Dr. Lynch has learned to straddle commercial and academic goals, converting analytic results into market success. Through her experience in diverse work settings she became familiar (and fascinated) with the unique language of each.  That experience led to her true passion of promoting clear and meaningful conversation that promotes mutual understanding and success.

    A frequent speaker, and author of over 100 articles and reports, Dr. Lynch has also published three books: Who Survives, Aligning Incentives, Information and Choice and, most recently, Get to What Matters.
